# Moving to the new admin

> Move your store from the previous version of the Swish admin to the new one, and switch your theme to the Swish app embed.

The Swish admin has a new version, with a visual editor for everything customers see on your storefront. This page is for stores moving from the previous version.

## How to move

Your store moves to the new admin when the Swish team switches it over. To ask for the move, contact [support@swish.app](mailto:support@swish.app). Moving also moves your store to a new Swish plan, and the team walks you through the details.

The switch applies to everyone on your store's staff. It takes effect the next time the Swish app is opened.

### Staying on the previous version

Until your store is switched over, you keep using the previous version of the admin, and your storefront keeps working as it does today. If Swish asks you to choose your admin version when you open it, click **Open the previous version**. Swish asks each time you open it until your store is switched.

### Not in the new admin yet

These parts of the previous admin don't have a place in the new admin yet. Contact [support@swish.app](mailto:support@swish.app) if you need any of them.

* The **Products** section, with save data per product and variant
* CSV and PDF exports
* **Google Analytics** and **Meta Pixel** settings. Saves still reach the Meta Pixel from the storefront; see [Meta Pixel](https://swish.app/docs/integrations/platforms/meta-pixel.md).
* Editing automation settings, such as **Minimum stock** or turning an automation on or off

## Switch your theme to the Swish app embed

A single **Swish** app embed replaces the previous **App Settings** and **\{Code} Access** embeds. Save buttons and header links are now placements you set up in the Customiser instead of theme app blocks.

App embeds and blocks are set per theme, so repeat steps 2, 5 and 6 on each theme you use with Swish. You only need to publish once. Publish before you turn off the previous embeds, so your live theme always has save buttons. Until you finish step 6, customers can see two save buttons or two header links.

**1. Pick your theme**

In the Swish admin, open **Home**. In the **Set up Swish** checklist, click
**Select theme** and choose the theme to set up. If the checklist is
collapsed, expand it first.

**2. Turn on the Swish app embed**

Click **Activate embed**. The theme editor opens on **App embeds** with
**Swish** selected. Turn it on and click **Save**.

**3. Set up your buttons in the Customiser**

Back on **Home**, click **Open setup**. Under **Placements**, check the
**Product detail**, **Collections** and **Header** buttons, then click
**Save**.

**4. Publish**

On **Home**, click **Publish**, or click **Publish** on the setup under
**Settings → Setups**. Customers see the new storefront once the setup is
live.

**5. Turn off the previous app embeds**

In the theme editor, open **App embeds** and turn off **App Settings**,
**\{Code} Access**, **Collection Buttons**, **Floating Wishlist Link** and
**Wishlist Page**, then click **Save**.

**6. Remove the previous app blocks**

Still in the theme editor, open each template that has a Swish block,
usually the product page, the header and your wishlist page. Remove any
**Wishlist Button**, **Header Link** or **Wishlist Page** block, then click
**Save**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If **Swish** isn't in your theme's **App embeds** list, contact
> [support@swish.app](mailto:support@swish.app). The Swish team turns it on for
> your store when it moves to the new admin.

### What customers see

* **The wishlist opens in a drawer**: the header button opens a panel on the side of the page instead of your previous wishlist page. To keep a full page, open the Customiser, go to **Global → Preferences → Wishlist experience**, and set **Wishlist surface** to **Classic Wishlist page**. The page is at `/apps/wishlist`, so update any menu links that point to your previous wishlist page.
* **Custom code needs moving**: styles written for the previous storefront, in the previous **Code editor** or in your theme, don't apply to the new one. Add the styles you still need under **Global → Custom CSS** in the Customiser.

### Buttons missing or showing twice

* **Two save buttons or two header links**: a previous block or app embed is still on. Repeat steps 5 and 6 above.
* **No save buttons at all**: check that the **Swish** app embed is on for your live theme, and that your setup is published on **Settings → Setups** with an **Active** badge.
* **Buttons on one theme but not another**: the **Swish** app embed is off on that theme, or the theme isn't the one your live setup was set up for. If the embed is off, open the theme in the theme editor, turn on **Swish** under **App embeds**, and click **Save**. Your live setup runs on the theme it was set up for and on copies of it. On any other theme Swish doesn't start, and the browser console says so in a `[swish]` message. To use that theme, choose **Duplicate to theme** on the setup in **Settings → Setups**, then publish the copy.

If a button still doesn't show up, contact [support@swish.app](mailto:support@swish.app) with your store's URL and the page where it's missing.

## Integrations

Klaviyo now connects by signing in to your Klaviyo account instead of with API keys: open **Integrations**, click **Manage** on Klaviyo, then click **Connect Klaviyo**. To change automation settings, contact [support@swish.app](mailto:support@swish.app) for now.
